9 AM to 3 PM (with working lunch)
Project Learning Tree (PLT), an award-winning environmental education program, is designed for teachers and informal educators working with students in pre-kindergarten through grade eight. Upon completion of the workshop, educators will receive CEU credits and a free 400-page PLT activity guide full of interdisciplinary instructional activities that use the forest as a window into natural and human-made environments. Educators will engage in hands-on PLT activities, gain confidence in nature-based teaching, and learn how to use PLT activities to help their students develop creativity, flexibility, and higher-order thinking skills.
Teachers will spend half of the workshop in Museum Park—an outdoor learning space that interprets how people, land, and water have intersected throughout history in the Lower Cape Fear region. Space is limited to 25.
Participants must pre-register by Monday, September 25. Register online here or by calling 910-798-4362.
