NEW HANOVER COUNTY, N.C. – Join Cape Fear Museum of History and Science for Leap into Science Family Day on Saturday, February 26, 2022, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. This FREE EVENT is designed to build interest and skills in science and literacy for children ages 3-10 and their families. The theme for this event is Light & Shadow.
The Museum will engage in fun, open-ended exploration of the science of light and shadow. At this FREE EVENT, visitors can:
“We are excited to host this FREE in-person family event at the Museum,” stated museum educator Meredith Morgan. “It’s an afternoon to welcome the community to experiment and explore the ways that light interacts with objects to create shadows, reflections and more.”
This family-friendly event is FREE and geared toward children aged 3-10. Support for this program is provided by The Franklin Institute and the Leap into Science Light & Shadow curriculum.
Cape Fear Museum of History and Science, a Smithsonian Affiliate, is located at 814 Market Street and is open Tuesday-Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 1 to 5 p.m. Standard admission prices are $8 for adults; $7 for seniors, students and military with valid ID; $5 for children 6-17; and free for children 5 and under and for museum members. New Hanover County residents’ free day is the first Sunday of each month.
