Join us for a fun-filled day as we celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 launch, lunar landing and moonwalk. See below for a list of activities that will take place throughout the day:
10 AM – Little Explorers: Good Morning Moon
Interactive circle time, exciting experiments and games related to the moon. Ideal for ages 3 to 6 and their adult helpers.
11 AM – Planetarium Adventures: We Choose Space
Astronauts Scott Parazinsky, Tom Jones, Gene Cernan and veteran space reporter Walter Cronkite are your tour guides on this adventure to the International Space Station (24 min).
11:30 AM-1:30 PM – Science Cycle: Moon Exploration
Our mobile science program that inspires kids to be curious, think big and experiment with hands-on science activities.
2 PM – Discovery Lab: Mission to the Moon
Discovery history and science in this hands-on exploration and science lab. Ideal for ages 5 and up and adult participation is required.
2:30 PM – Smithsonian Channel Film, The Day We Walked On The Moon
This documentary marks the 50th anniversary of man’s first steps on the lunar surface with interviews from key figures in Mission Control, contemporary astronauts and the families of Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong (45 min). To watch a trailer and see more about the film, click here.
