FREE EVENT for teens ages 13 to 19

Interested in making a positive impact on the planet? Join area teens at the National Earth Optimism Teen Conversation project at Cape Fear Museum. The museum has been selected as one of twelve Smithsonian Affiliates to promote the leadership of young people, ages 13 to 19, to join in solution-focused action around critical environmental issues.

At this FREE event, teens can expect to:

  • Take part in a virtual Earth Optimism discussion with teens around the country as part of a Smithsonian panel
  • Meet local scientists, volunteers and peers to learn more about environmental science, actions and solutions
  • Network with experts from Plastic Ocean Project, 350 Wilmington and other organizations making a difference
  • Take part in two Empowerment Sessions to engage with experts on Climate Change and Plastic-Free Living
  • Enjoy a free lunch and mingle with fellow like-minded teens
  • Dive into solutions, while developing your own teen-led action projects; project ideas may receive up to $500 in funding to be put into action in summer 2020

Pre-registration is required and you may sign up by clicking here.
