National History Day: Virtual Regional Competition

The Southeast Regional National History Day contest is virtual in 2021. CLICK HERE to register and learn more about this year’s contest including project guidelines and changes for the 2021 competition. From the homepage, click on Create Account to register. Teachers must register before students.

Important Dates:
January 13 – Registration Opens
February 19 – Registration Closes
February 19 – Deadline to submit projects electronically

Fee: Cape Fear Museum will waive entry fees for all students for the 2021 Southeast Regional contest.

 

Registration and Questions: The Southeast Regional NHD contest will utilize the National History Day organization’s registration system for the 2021 contest. For more information on how to register school groups or individual students, email cfmprograms@nhcgov.com or call 910-798-4386.

In this regional competition, students in grades 6-12 move beyond the classroom to bring history to life. Based on in-depth research, student projects take the form of historical paper, documentary, performance, exhibit or web page. The 2021 competition theme is “Communication in History: The Key to Understanding”.
