FREE Virtual PLT Workshop

Help your students develop critical thinking skills to explore the natural and human-made world around them. Project Learning Tree (PLT) provides resources for integrating literacy, science, technology, engineering, art, and math with fun, hands-on and virtual activities that build environmental awareness and skills. Completion of this PLT workshop provides 1.0 Continuing Education Credit formal educators and 10 hours of Criteria I for those working toward the NC Environmental Education Certification.

The workshops are great for scout leaders, youth group leaders, homeschool teachers, and informal educators as well!

This is a self-paced version of the PLT workshop and participants will have 30 days to complete all activities.

  • Deadline to register is Wednesday, October 14 at midnight
  • Workshop will be available Saturday, October 17 at 9 am
  • Deadline to complete workshop is Sunday, November 15 at midnight
    • View intro video from NC PLT Coordinator (~1 hour)
    • Complete asynchronous online professional development from national PLT, which can be done in multiple sittings (~4 hours)
    • View 6 PLT Activity videos created by Cape Fear Museum of History and Science (~3 hours)
    • Complete two assignments related to PLT Activities (~2 hours)

This workshop includes sponsored enrollment in the National Project Learning Tree (PLT) virtual workshop and content produced and delivered by Cape Fear Museum, in partnership with the NC PLT office. Participants with successful completion will receive a take-home kit, containing class sets of materials from each activity covered in the workshop and a hard-copy PLT activity book (an e-copy will be available with the national workshop).
