Jones Jr. and learn about his 13-year quest to preserve wartime history and bring national recognition to the city for its role in World War II. Learn more about how he navigated the legislative process to establish the World War II Heritage City program and how Wilmington became the first city recognized. Jones served in the U.S. Navy for 28 years and has authored 18 books, including two on wartime Wilmington.
