NEW HANOVER COUNTY, N.C. – Cape Fear Museum is inviting the community to Superhero Science Family Night, an educational evening of family fun on Friday, Nov. 16, 2018, from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. Sponsored by a grant from Piedmont Natural Gas, some of the event stations and activities at this FREE superhero science event will include:
Each activity is designed to encourage families to work together, spark curiosity and build enthusiasm for learning while introducing topics related to science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).
Museum Director Sheryl Kingery Mays said, “Thank you to Piedmont Natural Gas for their generosity to sponsor a family fun night that will help us better serve county residents, especially those living in our surrounding neighborhoods. We recognize the need for quality family programming that is both fun and educational.”
Superhero costumes are strongly encouraged and children must be accompanied by an adult. Poor Piggy’s food truck and Trolly Stop cart will be on-site and food will be available for purchase.

Cape Fear Museum of History and Science, 814 Market Street, is open Tuesday-Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 1 to 5 p.m. General admission will be FREE until further notice. Standard admission prices are $8 for adults; $7 for seniors, students and military with valid ID; $5 for children 6-17; and free for children 5 and under and for museum members.
