Buck Youngblood has been a Museum volunteer for more than 15 years. He works with the Collections Department, assisting with object cataloging, sorting and organizing collections, completing collections inventories and tagging and marking objects with tracking numbers. He also assists with special events like Pi Day and Science Spooktacular.
Youngblood chose to volunteer at the Museum because he saw it as an interesting place to work. “The Museum appeals to my lifelong interest in history,” he says. “The duties appealed to me as being challenging and offered me the opportunity to learn new skills in data entry and museumology.”
Youngblood has given more than 6,500 hours of his time, talents and dedication to the Museum. “The museum provides me a place to do meaningful work in a friendly environment surrounded by competent, dedicated people.”
